. Welcome to Lakeside Escape, we are Jonathan and Gail Steidl and excited to share this luxurious one kind cabin with you and your family. Our guests cannot say enough on how beautiful our home is and one of the best places that have visited. Come and explore our cabin located on 1.18 acres of land with 136 feet of sandy beach for peace and serenity! Follow us on Facebook at "Lakeside Escape" for daily news.

Our home is your home! located in Westfield, WI on Pleasant Lake in beautiful Waushara County, WI, our 4300 sq. ft. vacation home has all that you need to have the best get-a-way possible.

Exquisitely decorated and complete with 5 bedrooms, 4 full baths, a fully equipped kitchen, washer and dryer, 3 TV's with Union Telephone, super fast Wifi, sorry, no cable services. We also have a router with 3 Google points to cover internet to the whole house. Also including a jumbo 70- inch flat screen in the living room, spacious lake front recreation playground with over a 136 feet of frontage on a sandy beach, you will find it hard to leave! Oh did we mention it sleeps 14 very comfortably?

In the spacious living room, with a dazzling view of Pleasant Lake, also a screen in porch to enjoy those warm summer nights outside! You will also enjoy a large wood-burning fireplace and a 70 inch 4k Television. Our large game room in the lower level also includes a 65-inch flat TV, foosball table, air hockey table and also a chess/checkers table. Did we mention we have two wood burning fireplaces in our place?

But why stay indoors when the outdoor seating is a panoramic premium for your entire party on a huge deck. Overlooking the lake is a fire pit for those late night bonfires with plenty of wood available. This stunning home also comes with a gas grill, private pier, water toys, two kayaks, pedal boat, and a paddle board. Pleasant Lake 120 acre sand bottom, fishing swimming, boating and we also have a sandy beach!!

You will not find a better vacation home to relax, refresh and enjoy. Perfect for family gatherings , reunions, group getaways, business and spiritual retreats.


Attention golfers! There are two large golf courses, one located in Wautoma: Waushara Country Club, a lovely 27-hole course open to the public and Two Oaks North, a novice friendly 18 hole golf course. There are also many more courses located within 30 minutes of Westfield, including Lawsonia in Green Lake, WI. voted " One of the top 100 Classic Golf Courses in the U.S", ranked #60 by Golfweek in 2017, Lawsonia has been one of Wisconsin's very best golf destinations for generations.

We also offer a Winter Wonderland! About 30 miles away from the lodge is Nordic Mountain Ski and Tubing Hill. This resort offers runs for the whole family, a very fun and exciting tubing park, restaurant and a wonderful family atmosphere. Off season, mountain bike trails take you thru a gorgeous area of our state, ice age trails for hiking. Other skiing attractions include Granite Peak and Cascade Mountain, both approximately an hour away. Waushara County has wonderful snowmobile trails throughout the county and with over 96 lakes, ice fishing is at a premium. Local marinas can outfit you with bait and tackle.

We also want to disclose that we have Ring cameras on the property, we did not want to resort to this but we have been experiencing costly damage to our other property and had no choice but to install cameras on the outside of the property. We have two in the front for people and guests who enter onto the property and two in the back. We respect our renters privacy and these are only to be used for security only and to monitor for safety and security. Thanks for understanding.

Lake Pleasant Cabin Retreat
Our family of 8 adults and 5 grandkids enjoyed our weekend very much. Amazing cabin with lots of top of the line amenities! The cooler weather kept us inside till the water warmed up, but water was pretty clear, kids loved fishing and released their small. catches, playing on the sandy beach and the bonfires.

Amazing!
We had a wonderful time at the Lakeside Escape! The house is so beautiful and there is sooo much room! We had 8 adults, 1 teen and 3 kids. Plenty of room to enjoy togetherness but yet be able to spread out to have space alone when needed. The kitchen was huge and fully equipped, comfortable beds, pool table was a hit, lots of games and stuff for the kids. The porch was large and the screened in porch was a bonus. There are lots of stairs to the lake but manageable for us. Great beach area and pier, we had good luck fishing. Sandy bottom, some small rocks but no big deal. The paddleboard, kayak, and peddle boat were well used. Jonathan was VERY responsive, we appreciated that. We’d love to come back next year!

Fantastic Lakehouse
We loved staying at this clean, well-appointed cabin and the lake itself was amazing. Everything was as described in the listing and just top-notch. Even the wifi kept up (mostly) with our very large group of friends and all their devices, and unlike many other large rentals we've booked in the past I didn't hear any complaints about the HVAC at this location. We enjoyed the variety of great outdoor spaces available, and had plenty of room to spread out and socialize, cook, and play games inside. We especially enjoyed lounging at the dock/beach, jumping in the lake for a swim, and using the kayaks and paddleboat during quiet hours on the lake. The hosts' communication throughout was great. Our group would absolutely consider staying here again!

Fabulous Family Vacation
Our family had an awesome time on our annual vacation at Lakeside Escape. The house is beautiful with plenty of room to spread out, the kitchen had everything you could possibly need, the beds were comfortable and the lake was perfect. We had 6 adults and 4 kids ages 9-13 and there was always something to do. The kids enjoyed the lower level while the adults were upstairs. The owner, Jon, was very nice and very quick to respond to questions. All in all it was a perfect family vacation at a beautiful place.

Our three families found this house so well appointed and comfortable we came back the following year. Plenty fun things for the Grandkids to enjoy, inside and out. Day trips to Devils Lake and found the International Crane Foundation in Baraboo to be a highlight

We loved our stay at this house!! Super clean and comfortable. Weather was chilly but we still jumped in the lake a few times, couldn’t resist! Loved the pool table and air hockey, and enjoyed the back deck quite a bit. Would definitely come back.

Great Family Vacay
Beautiful lake home complete with everything you need for an enjoyable stay. Kitchen is huge and the pool table, air hockey and foosball table were a big hit. Paddle board, pedal boat, kayaks and numerous water toys available as well. My son left his work laptop at the Lake House and Jonathan personally returned it to my son’s home the same day. That was really appreciated.

Title: A Tranquil Lakeside Retreat in Wisconsin My family and I recently had the pleasure of vacationing at a charming property nestled on the shores of a serene lake in Wisconsin. Our stay was nothing short of delightful, and we were thoroughly impressed with the overall experience. First and foremost, the location of the property was simply breathtaking. Surrounded by lush greenery and offering panoramic views of the glistening lake, it provided the perfect backdrop for a peaceful getaway. The tranquility and natural beauty of the surroundings instantly put us at ease, allowing us to unwind and escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The accommodations themselves were comfortable and well-maintained. The property boasted a cozy home with ample space for our family, complete with all the necessary amenities. The charm of the interior, combined with modern conveniences, created a warm and inviting atmosphere. We particularly enjoyed the large windows that allowed us to wake up to stunning lake views each morning. One of the highlights of our stay was undoubtedly the private lake access. The property had its own dock, providing us with the opportunity to indulge in various water activities. We spent our days swimming, kayaking, and even trying our hand at fishing. The crystal-clear waters and peaceful ambiance made for unforgettable moments of relaxation and fun. The property's proximity to nearby attractions was another advantage. A great week!

Best yet of our house rentals !
This was our 9th year of renting a summer home in the Wi. - Mi. area, and found this home to be the nicest . Very spacious home for our three families, with the lower level bedrooms / bathrooms floor plan perfect for privacy. Kids really enjoyed the beach area and sandy bottom lake for swimming and fishing..... the provided water toys were a big bonus. Where some folks considered it a negative, we found it a positive to limit the time frame for motor sports on the lake. Finally, Jonathan and Gail were terrific to work with, and responded quickly to all of our questions, making our stay a wonderful experience !

Perfect Family Christmas House

Awesome Lakehouse!
We absolutely loved our first stay at Jon & Gail’s lake house on Pleasant Lake! Our family of 9 had plenty of space and endless things to do over the week, both inside and out! The lake was a great size for kayaking, swimming, & fishing. The open concept kitchen, dining, living room, & pool table was well-used throughout, especially for game nights. The massive laundry room was a bonus to keep up with all the swimming fun. One unexpected surprise was the amazing Elfa closet systems! We can’t wait to go back next year! Thanks for creating the perfect lake house experience for our family!

Family Summer Vacation
We had a great stay with family there. The house was beautiful and had lots to offer. The kids had games and some toys to play with. Lots of space to spread out and relax. The lake was beautiful. Quiet and there is no wake except between the hours of 11-3. Which was nice especially for kayaking and paddle boarding. The beach area for the kids was nice. Plenty of room to play and swim. A short drive into town. We had a great time. 11 people in total stayed and we had plenty of space and things to do without driving each other crazy.

We loved this house!
This is a beautiful house in a beautiful setting! Very spacious! There were lots for the kids to do inside the house as well as the lake! We really enjoyed the fire pit too! The only downside was some of the lake rules that we were not aware of. The lake is beautiful and clean but there is a wake time of 11:00-3:00. We would have preferred a little longer. But we would definitely go back!!!
