This was one of the most pleasant stays we have ever experienced, and that is coming from experienced world travelers. Waterton, and Northland Lodge particularly are special places.
I could go on about the beauty of the lake and mountains. The best. But it was Jeanne, who manages everything, the people of this small town, and our fellow guests that made this so special to us. Warm muffins (really, really good muffins!) and hot coffee were waiting for us each morning along with the chance to enjoy them with friends we made.
Jeanne and the locals had plenty of stories and advice, but she was just as interested in our stories. And whether it was sitting in the red Adirondack chairs enjoying a freshly made doughnut, or looking up at the stars from the upper deck, we could feel the cares of the world just melt away.
The room we had was very comfortable, but not luxurious. The bed was good and the water was hot, and Jeanne was quick to respond to questions and little requests we made.
In summary, this is not a party palace. But if you are looking for beauty, peace, fun, and want to make some new friends, you will find these at Northland Lodge.
