«The Lochaline Hotel is located in the tiny village of Lochaline, which is reached by a rather long drive on a single-track road. Although remote, the hotel rewards a stay with its peacefulness. It is located right on the sound. The ferry runs frequently to Mull and no reservation is needed. Our hosts were warmly welcoming and helpful. The room was clean and had a wonderful view of the sound. The breakfast was excellent and cooked to order.»

«Et helt greit hotell, på alle måter. Ligger på høyden over Tobermory, delvis utsikt til bukten nedenfor. Hyggelig betjening og god frokost.»

«Suite was beautiful. One of the nicest we've stayed in Scotland. Self-serve breakfast and snacks in our suite were delicious, ample, and restocked. Loved it. A little out of the main part of town, but it takes seconds to drive and minutes to walk. »

«This was a charming but rustic property. I expected that, as I read the age of the hotel. Tub/shower was a bit rickety, but clean. The rooms are heated with radiators that are on timers...you cannot control the temp yourself. Food at their restaurant was great. The place just needs a bit of TLC.»

«In many ways more like B&B rather than hotel. Public bar downstairs. Breakfast very nice and owner friendly and helpful. Set in a small village with very nice surrounding countryside. My only criticism would be that it was quite expensive for a B&B. »

«Fantastic»

«A cheap place to stay if you just need a place to sleep. Run down and mostly broken. Add to it the most inhospitable and rude receptionist which complained about everything but found it OK to "walk" his dog for a 5am morning pee at the trash cans in the small common area backyard.»

«This is a wonderful hotel, great location to access everything on Iona, staff clearly enjoy working there, as nothing was too much trouble and shared lots of local knowledge and lovely warm hospitality. Really helpful to have concierge to help with bags up from the ferry. The hotel lounge is just as enjoyable as seeing the island as it looks across the water and so you can just breathe in the view. Food was high standard and lovely they have a kitchen garden so lots of fresh organic ...

«The room was good with a large bathroom and perfectly acceptable. But it wasn't great. No chairs to sit in, only window seats which were uncomfortable. We were in room 1, right by the front door so rather noisy until the restaurant closed and our window (with a great view) was by the front door, so it felt a bit like being in a goldfish bowl. Would I stay again? Maybe, it was OK, just not great.»

«The owners of property friendly, nothing to much trouble for them. Scenic views Breakfast was lovely and hot but not keen on bread for toast. The only thing I would remark on, is property not well signposted off the main road and could do with some repairs to potholes»

«Great place for accommodations in Tobermory. Property management had clear instructions on how to get in and how to work things in the apartment (eg. Pull out bed) plus lots of information on the island available. It was clean and ideally located on the Main Street with only about an 8 min walk to the buses at the car park. »
