We had the unfortunate situation where the property was under some renovations when we were there. When we checked in, we were told it was only in the lobby area and it wouldn’t be a bother. Our surprise was when we went up to the 3rd floor where our room was, there was what seemed like a construction worker, sitting against the wall in the hallway, looking like he was napping after lunch. We also noticed how noisy it was. Construction hammering and we could hear kids running up and down the hallway and slamming doors on 2 nites. One night when we came back late in the evening, only to discover our beds were not made. We know housekeeping was in the room as they changed the towels and tidied up the room… but the beds were left unmade. When I finally complained I was told by the manager that she had talked to the contractors and no one “admitted” to sleeping in the hallway and that she trusted all her workers… I thought about it and it was simple enough for them to check the CCTV cameras to see if it caught the workers sleeping in the hallway… not only that, but if was really not any employee of the contractor then it’d be a security issue with an unknown person sleeping in the hallway. I do have to say that I was surprised at the responses I got. There was one superb person in the hotel that was consistently a pleasure to see every day… the waitress in the restaurant named Chanina was always professional, very pleasant and great service not just to us but to everyone.
