«We booked for 2 and stayed 1 more night. It’s a basic hotel with breakfast for a good price. Nothing is walkable and the bus stop is a good hike. We had our bikes so were able to get around without driving. »

«This place was amazing. Despite being a smaller older motel, the furnishing were modern and the room very clean. We like staying at motels as rest stops on road trips. They all have their unique character and style. And the Lord Nelson did not disappoint. Pulling up to it brought back wonderful memories from 40 years ago of the road trips I took with my parents. «The manager was friendly and helpful when the hot water tap didn't get hot. He stressed it was a seasonal operation and they were shutting down at the end of October. It was a cool night 3C. The room was cold and we had to crank up the baseboard heater to full to get it warm enough. The bathroom was ice cold. Could not take a shower as the floors were too cold. Perhaps in the warmer months this property would suffice.»

«We stayed in the Schitt's Creek themed room and it was amazing! The attention to detail was unmatched. A great stay for fans of the show. Besides the theme, the room was wonderful. Very clean and Pia, the owner, really does go above and beyond adding special touches that make the stay very enjoyable. We will be back again! »

«We had a big group of 14 people and booked this property on Howe Island. The location was great. It was quite, remote and peaceful, just what we were looking for. The hosts, Courtney and Chris along with their kids were very hospitable and did a great job of hosting us. Would definitely consider this place again and recommend it to anyone looking for a great getaway!»
