Lake Forest is a dog friendly neighborhood featuring short walk to Lake Forest Beach. Lake Forest Beach is located at the south end of Bristlecone Street and offers shaded picnicking and barbecuing with a lovely view of the lake, right next to the Public Beach.
Dogs are free to roam on the western end of the beach.
We are also located in Tahoe City, which has a ton of great restaurants, shopping options, grocery stores, and more. Squaw Valley and Alpine Meadows are not far if you are looking for world-class skiing.

Getting around is easy. We recommend you have a car when staying at our home. In the winter, we also recommend that you are prepared for all weather possibilities. This includes chains.

Due to unforeseen and uncontrollable circumstances, including poor air quality and smoke associated with wildfires, we highly recommend purchasing Travel Insurance to cover your cancellation, as we will not be able to offer a full refund outside the cancellation window.
Please note that living in the mountains and staying in a private home means that there are some things we cannot always control. For example, weather and harsh conditions have knocked out Wifi and the power before. While these instances are far and few between, we please ask that you are patient as these are things that we unfortunately cannot control. While we will try and accommodate all requests, we handle refunds for situations like this (power outages, appliances breaking, etc.) on a case by case basis.
One lesson we've learned about the great outdoors is the frequent requirement to wipe down the deck furniture. Despite our efforts to maintain the utmost cleanliness for your convenience, it seems that nature is working against us. You may need to wipe down the outdoor table, chairs, and any other outdoor seating. The dust and pollen accumulates within a matter of hours.
