Idyll Acres Charming Wine Country Farmhouse

Welcome to “Idyll Acres Farmhouse” a charming retreat that feels like you are “out there” but it’s in the middle of everything that the Sierra Foothills have to offer! Enjoy the tranquility of 10 private acres where wildlife abounds or explore the historic towns, gold mines, natural attractions, and abundance of Amador and El Dorado county wineries that are just minutes away.

The space
The farmhouse features a spacious great room area with living room, dining and a freshly remodeled kitchen featuring refrigerator, stove, microwave and dishwasher. There are three cozy bedrooms, one downstairs and two upstairs, all with queen size beds. The downstairs bath features a clawfoot tub/shower combo and the upstairs bath has a shower. There is also a “work from anywhere” den with desk and futon couch for an extra guest. Enjoy dining al fresco on the spacious patio surrounded by fruit trees and a view of the “gulch”. There is also a small deck with loveseat overlooking the property and a greenhouse that has been converted into a dining room. Explore the 10 private acres of rolling oak woodlands and imagine what it was like 170 years ago when the area was populated by thousands of gold miners. Idyll Acres Farmhouse is just a short walk to Fiddletown’s “main” street, and the historic cemetery and schoolhouse. It is just 6 miles to Plymouth for stocking up on supplies at Pokerville Market or enjoying a meal out.

This idyllic property is a place to unplug and unwind. Take note, it is a TV-free property per the owners preference; however, complimentary wi-fi is provided. The house is heated, but there is no air conditioning. Fans are provided for hot weather.

Quiet secluded location.
Good location for the wineries in the area. It cooled off at night and we were out exploring during the day, so the lack of AC did not pose much of a problem. Host is nice and very responsive.

Great Getaway
Just an hour from Sacramento and just a short walk from Fiddletown, you'll find this cute farmhouse. Check-in was easy, very comfortable living/dining/kitchen area. Dogs enjoyed running around the property. We had a nice and relaxing time here. Definitely recommend!

Quiet and peaceful country home
Lovely house, decorated comfortably, well-appointed with everything you need. Really comfy beds! Good communication with owner. This is a 5-star place, but pay attention to no TV and no air conditioning if that is important to you. It was very hot (98) while we were there and while many box fans are provided, it just didn't cut it (especially upstairs) in that heat. Cooler at night and we slept well. Overall, I would stay here again but maybe not in summer. We had a great time in this area!

Serene and relaxing location
We enjoyed our stay at Idyll Acres. From the wildlife of deer and wild turkeys to roaming on the 10 acres, we thoroughly enjoyed taking advantage of this property. If you are looking for a quiet and serene location, I would recommend Idyll Acres.

Getaway

Nice but dated
The property was much as advertised. The checkin process was uncomplicated, if not heavy on legalese documents that were like closing on a house purchase. The deposit requirement vs the damage insurance would have been more acceptable if the property was in better shape. Everything was clean but the screens were worn and not fitting in the bedroom downstairs. Another stainless frying pan would be nice. Another pillow or two also. In general this was an acceptable rental, but after having rented in the area over 20 years for a weekend, despite the convenient location and nice setting, I will have to give Idyll Acres a value grade of C+.

Hidden Gem!!
This is a beautifully decorated, cozy, well laid out home. The entire space is laid out perfectly with so much room and modern consciences that felt like it was your own. On top of the spacious accommodations highlighted by the 3 bed / 2 bath layout, was the property it is on. Secluded and quiet is what comes to my mind. We spent our mornings drinking coffee outside on the bistro table and had our dinner outside as well. We will definitely come back and I even had a thought of what a great place to be to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Close to the wineries was a major plus. Indigo was great in communication on instructions for check in and check out process. A true hidden gem! (Don’t tell anybody! 😂)

Lovely but….
This house was fabulous and the owner was quick to respond and accommodating. The house was well equipped and very clean. Our only problem was bedding. Although it is advertised as sleeping 8, 3 queen beds and a futon couch do not sleep 8 adults. The owner did add two very nice cots for us, but we were still cramped. Otherwise LOVED IT!

Lovely countryside experience
This house is located in the cute little town of Fiddletown, which is very quiet and peaceful. Lots of wildlife around! There are actually a few wineries walking distance (30 min, I strongly recommend Plein Air!) and countless driving distance. There are a lot of remains from the gold rush times, which makes the area very charming. The house is in great condition, clean and with everything you could possibly need, plus a brand new grill! Lots of outdoor space and furniture to hang out. Indigo is super kind and helpful, and very easy to reach to! Overall a great experience, we'll come back!
