Mevagissey & Neighbourhood information
Mevagissey is a ideal location to explore the many delights Cornwall has to offer, 10 drive to the renowned Eden Project & Lost Gardens of Heligan, along with many sandy beaches.
The fascination with Mevagissey can only be understood with a visit here. Its narrow streets (where you'll find the cottage) allow the unique character of this quiet fishing village to live on. The fishermen are still here, hauling in their catch at the end of the day. You too can go fishing on one of the deep-sea angling trips that are available from the quay or short mackerel fishing trips in the bay. Mevagissey is a great base for a walking holiday with the Cornish coastal path passing right through the village. There is also the Mevagissey to Fowey ferry, which runs most days in the summer months.
*FOOD* - Enjoy a famous Cornish pasty, many outlets sell them in the village, but Mary's on the harbour are superb! Apart from the many pubs & restaurants, Mevagissey also has numerous great street food Fish kiosks on the harbour.
Close to the village are several other smaller villages Gorran Haven and Pentewan both of which have sandy beaches. However one of the best local sandy beaches, can be found at Caerhays (which also has a cafe + toilet).
For the keen golfer Mevagissey is centrally placed to reach many excellent courses and very close by are Carolyn Bay, St Austell, Lostwithiel & Porthpean. Within 25-40 mins drive you can reach Llanhydrock, Trevose, Bowood, St Mellion, Looe, Newquay, Perranporth and Truro etc.

We were lucky enough to stay in Mevagissey this summer and this was such a great cottage! Very centrally located, within walking distance of many restaurants and shops, with parking easily accessible. The cottage itself is spacious, with a lovely, cosy living room and two main bedrooms. Jacqueline - July 2024 - **Lovely cosy cottage**
Brilliant two week stay in this lovely cottage in the heart of Mevagissey. Very close to the harbour, pubs & restaurants & shops. Lucky with the sunny weather which resulted in numerous visits to the beach (Caerhays). Extremely well fitted cottage with everything we needed, looks like it has been re-carpeted throughout and new looking flooring in the kitchen area. Loved the free Wifi, and freeview TV with access to Netflix, Prime, You Tube, BBC i player which we accessed with our log ons. Also plugged the lap top into the back of the TV (via a lead provided) and accessed our Sky Go so we could watch the sport. Great visits to Helegan Gardens & the Eden Project. Can't wait to return next year. 5/5

Jenny - Nov 2024 - **Lovely cottage in the centre of the village**
We stayed for an off season break and Erin cottage was perfect. The downstairs living area had everything we needed. The double bed was very comfortable and the bathroom has a shower over the bath. We spent around £3 to 4 a day on electric which was less than we thought. We parked at Willow Car park which is close by. We were easily able to load and unload the car directly outside the house. Will definitely consider Erin cottage for any future holidays in Mevagissey.
Harriet - June 2024 **Excellent priced cottage**

Nigel - October 2023 **Charming cottage**
A charming cottage right in the centre of Mevagissey in a great location for exploring the village itself with easy access by road to other areas of Cornwall. Great parking in a nearby car park a minute''s walk away (and cheap, too - £18 total for 3 nights). Numerous pubs & restaurants in the village and harbour are a few minutes'' walk away. Just a 20-minute drive to The Eden Project, a great place to visit. We''ll definitely be returning for sure so we can explore more. Thanks. Nigel 5/5
