«St. Martin is expensive even by norwegian standards, and Alamanda is also. Location is pretty good, a hundred meters from one of the best beaches in Caribbiean, and plenty of restaurants around. But service was very bad, by any standard. The receptionists seemed constantly busy on the phone, and we felt we were intruding when asking about stuff. «I had an excellent experience here. It is right on the beach but is walking distance to several highly rated restaurants. The hotel is very quiet and well-maintained. The staff was very helpful and friendly. A cab ride to Grand Case is $20. I also appreciated that my room had a mini kitchen with a small refrigerator. My only complaint t is that the coffee machine at breakfast is very fickle and I needed help to operate it. »

«The Property has a great terrace, pool and air conditioner. However, as we needed help, because we had no electricity 2 times and no water once, we couldn't reach anybody on both phone numbers we got! No one answered the other contact possibility we had: email! Expedia itself had also no possibility to contact anybody! And there is no reception or so. «Very relaxing two weeks in a perfect setting. Very friendly and efficient staff who did everything they could to make our stay enjoyable. We tried 3 of the local restaurants and they were all good. For a longer stay you really need a car, and as the approach road is steep, one with automatic gears is advised. 5 minutes drive down to an uncrowded beach after the perfect breakfast.
