Good for Tenerife?
Overall a good hotel in a nice area. Earlier reviews said there were only Germans there and that the hotel is very distinctly German. I didn't really understand how or why this would be an issue as surely guests are guests, people are all different, I have traveled extensively and use to being the odd one out etc.. I was wrong! You really do feel that you are in a private party which you were not invited to. The guests are *silent* during meals in the very large restaurant. The restaurant is beautiful - eating outside each day overlooking the gorgeous gardens was wonderful. The food is varied and delicious. Some of the staff are amazing - one of the maids stopped me in the corridor to ask which tea bags I would like in my room, and a lady at reception spent ages giving me advice on buses. Really appreciated. Other stuff seem a bit overly trained - they know what to say but you can tell they don't mean a word of it. Excellent wifi. The room is large and comfortable - TV is only in German and Spanish, and there are no ironing facilities. They can iron for you but only within 48 hours which means I was forced to go out and buy an iron + attempt to iron my clothes on the bed. This is not typical of a four star at all. The irony is that men HAVE to wear long trousers to dinner and everyone is encouraged to "dress elegantly" - without an iron! I would stay here again with not lower but with very different expectations.
