This was such a cool place to stay. It's a two bedroom loft apartment in an historic high school that's been converted into apartments. It has an amazing gym housed in the old gymnasium with an upper level wooden track. And it has a really cool common area with a pool table/table tennis/foosball and library. We're a family of four with two teenage boys. I love having them in their own room vs all of us crammed into one room on two queen beds. And it cost less than staying at a traditional hotel.
I do have a few caveats. A key fob to enter the building is left in your room. It didn't work very well at all. Sometimes we would fiddle with it for several minutes before we could get in. Other times, building residents would take pity on us and let us in. There is a "front desk" but it's not affiliated with the hotel portion of the building. Not sure what would happen if you actually needed something like towels or an extra blanket. We bought a roll of toilet paper when we were running out. That said, SoSuites does have a check in portal with very good instructions. I contacted them twice with questions relating to parking and check out and they were super helpful and responsive.
The West Philly location is very residential and quiet. Not touristy. Easy walk to the Market St Septa line. We parked at a garage on 34th, but were able to find on street parking a block away after we needed to take the car out and go to Midas for some maintenance.
Overall, loved it!
