Enjoy Chesapeake Bay life at Sailor’s Sunrise Cottage. An awesome cottage with endless water views overlooking the North East River on the Upper Chesapeake Bay. The cottage is newly renovated. Perfect for a romantic getaway, family vacay, boating trip, girls getaway, or no occasion at all. You'll never want to leave!

Amazing sunrises and moonrises all year long, The perfect cottage for summer water fun, Bring your boat, jet skis, kayaks, etc.. Fish or crab from the bulkhead. It's a beautiful getaway any time of year.

Located a few miles from the historic Wellwood Restaurant in Charlestown, MD and The River Shack for all you can eat crabs. There are quaint shops and great restaurants a short drive into the town of North East. Elk Neck State park offers hiking and mountain biking trails, lighthouse, and amazing cliffside water views. Historic Havre de Grace is just across the bay and can be easily accessed by boat or a 10 minute drive with lots of restaurants, lighthouse, walking tours, museums and shopping.

Only 35 minutes from University of Delaware.

This million dollar view is conveniently located less than an hour from Philadelphia and Baltimore. Washington, DC is also easily accessible, only 2 hours South of us.
NYC is about 2 hours North of us. Easy access from I95, zero beach traffic and an amazing water view make Sailor’s River Cottage the best kept secret on the Upper Chesapeake Bay.

This idyllic cottage has two bedrooms and a private sleeping area on the porch with an amazing water view. All bedding and lines are provided and included. Beach towels are also provided. Adorable galley kitchen with beautiful granite counter tops, with all the accoutrements necessary for a comfortable stay.

Peaceful, Waterfront Cottage
Don’t judge a “book” by the cover. The curb appeal of the home needs a little sprucing but once inside we were beyond please with the cleanliness, use of space and amazing waterfront location offered through the beautiful views from the back of the property. We stayed as a family of 5 while traveling for a lacrosse tournament. We had plenty of space. The “porch bedroom” was a favorite! The house had all we needed and an easy drive to the fields. The use of kayaks was a great perk to fill our time while not at the lacrosse fields! We would highly recommend for anyone looking for time on the water, can’t get any closer!

Pet Friendly Quiet Getaway
Super clean and cute cottage on the water! LOVED the sun porch set up; flowy curtains with black out curtain option, table with bench seat, the queen daybed was a favorite during our stay, super comfy and unique. Great soft side hot tub in backyard was clean and relaxing. Also made great use of the outdoor furniture around the fire pit with new cushions for comfort. Neighborhood was quiet and green. Jessica was timely and responsive. Lovely all the way around! Would definitely stay again if in the area.

House was very clean and in an excellent location. However the grounds were in need of weeding to the point that the advertised upper bay view was blocked or partially blocked from many areas. Host was prompt in responding when I reached out.

Lovely spot at the head of the Chesapeake
Charming place with several private sleeping areas. My favorite was the screened in porch. Pet friendly and literally right on the water. Close to the small town of Charlestown. Play equipment for children. I didn't use the hot tub but it was conveniently already heated.

Compact little gem
This cozy cottage packs a lot of comfort and convenience into a small space, with gorgeous views out over the river. The kitchen was efficient and well-equipped, the seating throughout was spacious and comfortable, and the whole place is charmingly decorated. There were several thoughtful amenities, including an outdoor fire pit, hot tub, playground equipment, and two kayaks. The whole place was sparkling clean, and the owner quickly responded to all questions.

Sunrise shines through at your feet, when you wake in the morning. Nice fire pit. Jacuzzi was lovely. The host was fabulous. A wonderful property to just step away from life for a minute, to soak up the peace . Would definitely recommend.

Amazing summer weekend at the cottage!!
My friends and I had the best weekend here. It was the perfect spot by the river (mornings and sunsets were especially dreamy). The house included kayaks, a smart tv for the occasional rainy day, ample outdoor seating, a great hot tub, fire pit, and everything you need for an amazing summer weekend. The neighborhood was super cute and the host, Jess, was extremely responsive and helpful. We didn’t want to leave!! Will definitely be back.

Relaxing getaway
My wife and I and our dog like to go away at Xmas and just relax. Although record cold temps made it freezing outside this was a cozy place to stay. They supplied plenty of heat for our stay and the communication was great. Unfortunately was only thawing out when we left so couldn't do as much outside as we wanted, you can tell it is a beautiful view over the water. Birds were coming around the last day we were there when the ice on the water started to break up.

Gorgeous view inside and out
The house is really decorated nicely. An enormous couch fit all 5 adults comfortably, the property was easy for my father (uses a walker) to move on his own with no assistance, which was SO important in my search for a weekend getaway. He could access the bathroom and bedroom on his own and the shower/tub combo was perfect. The hot tub was luxurious, fantastic for a morning soak to watch the sunrise. Outside a red maple tree provided some adorable photos and the water could be accessed by a gate. The neighborhood was quiet and well-decorated for the holiday so we were able to walk after settling and admire the neighborhood lights. The location is easy to get to and only 15 minutes from Havre de Grace. We ate our meals in town and walked around after; we’d never been before and it’s a cute town. Overall the most important things I was looking for was pet friendly, accessible so dad can get around without asking for help, near enough to town but not so close there is late-night traffic, and a view. This place exceeded each expectation tenfold!

Perfect place to relax
Adorable little property right on the water. The house has essentials needed for day to day tasks. We stayed for a weekend in October. The house, hot tub and fire pit kept us warm! 15 min to towns for shopping and dining. It was a wonderful, relaxing weekend. I hope to return with my husband in the spring!

Beautiful View
The house was exactly as described. The view and access to the large river was better than expected. The owner was very responsive to any issues. So glad we found a place where we can take our dog. We would definitely stay again.

Everything we expected!
The sunrises are well worth the 5:45am wake up... Super cute, clean, cozy little cottage right on the water. Easy access for Kayaks and small boats. Jessica was extremely friendly and helpful :) Overall, we had a great relaxing time!!! The only downside was~ The weather was not the greatest..... So we could not make the most use of the outside area..... Keep in mind the surrounding towns were extremely quiet, however it was super close to Delaware where we found fun restaurants and other inside activities to hide from the rain.. Looking forward to a return visit to really enjoy the bay. :)

Great location
Stayed for a long Independence Day weekend. Got great use of the adjacent boat ramp to launch a Sunfish to sail around the river. Views from the back yard were fantastic for fireworks. Swam and boated everyday. Our host was responsive to fix a broken door handle right away, came out herself and took care of it! We were also very stoked to find a Margaritaville machine to make frozen drinks. Kitchen was tiny (accurate as pictured) but stocked for all the basics, good cold AC, and laundry machine (small and slow, don't expect to do towels or sheets in a hurry) to help minimize packing needs. Only suggestions to be a truly stellar vacation rental: yard needs some TLC in terms of mowing and overgrown landscaping, and the concrete step into the water is at the end of life, moves around when you step on it. Instead we just went into the water at the boat ramp next door. Really those are minor and don't bring it down from 5 stars. Would stay again.

Peaceful stay one the water.
This property is in a very quiet area on bay. It was very clean and comfortable. We really enjoyed the outside couch, firepit and hot tube. Definitely would stay here again when back in the area.
