This special place is ready to welcome you – are you ready for an epic Tobermory adventure?!
Bruce Peninsula National Park has its off season from November 1st to April 30th. This means that you won’t need to make a reservation ahead of time. There also aren’t any time restraints to visit for the day as there are during the busier months. Stay as long as you’d like. While you will have to share the Grotto with crowds of people during the busier summer months, this is not the case in the winter. In fact, you might have the entire place to yourself, even if you visit on a weekend!
Visiting the Grotto at any age and anytime of the year is a truly amazing experience. Late spring, summer, and early fall can be very busy times at the Grotto so if you have the chance to visit during the off-season, November to April we highly recommend you do so. The Bruce Peninsula National Park is free to enter before the middle of May and after Canadian Thanksgiving in mid October, so it's cheaper and virtually empty so you feel like you have it all to yourself. There's plenty of places to hike and several spots to sit, relax, picnic, and enjoy the picturesque views.

Prepare to have your breath taken away in Tobermory, at the northern tip of the Bruce Peninsula. This magical place is home to Flowerpot Island in Fathom Five National Marine Park. It’s one of Canada’s premiere freshwater diving destinations and the final resting place of some two dozen shipwrecks. Take an exciting Tobermory boat tour, swim in crystal clear waters, visit 19th century lighthouses, enjoy great shopping, dining and so much more. This picturesque historic fishing village is the place to shop, people watch, and eat ice-cream and fudge. Tour boats depart frequently from the harbour for shipwrecks, lighthouses and Flowerpot Island.
This tiny community is blessed with not one, but two harbours. Little Tub anchors the downtown core with shops, restaurants and boat tour operators, while the Tobermory Lighthouse guards the entrance to Big Tub Harbour. Planning a boat tour out to Flowerpot? There's a choice of two operators that land on the island, with others offering scenic tours of the rugged shoreline, shipwrecks and Flowerpot Island from the water. With more than 20 shipwrecks to explore, Tobermory is a diver’s paradise, and Divers Den has been training and serving scuba divers here since 1967.
