«Put this on your bucket list! While everyone stages their property for the photos, this may be the one property that is anti-staged! The House of the Ocean Sun absolutely exceeds the amazing pictures and write-up in every way. Views are epic. «This property is recently updated, has a large bathroom and fridge. We found it clean and the parking in the alley was not bad. The neighbors are not sketchy. «We were in the area to do some bird photography, so were out of the house during most of the daylight hours. The location on the lake was very serene, and even in the rainy weather, the windows out onto the lake provided a beautiful view. The house was clean, comfortable, and a great location for exploring many areas of Skagit and Whatcom Counties. «Cute house, the two small bedrooms aren’t great for adults. It was really handy to have a washer and dryer. The place is equipped with pots and pans (we did buy a frozen pizza and didn’t have a pan to cook it on), soap, toilet paper, paper towels and trash bags. You need to bring things like foil, Saran Wrap, ziploc bags. «We absolutely enjoyed our stay! Bruce was super helpful and the house was so clean and had everything we needed. The beds were very comfortable and the furniture was cozy. «Tongue and grooved knotty pine, Leathered granite counters, views of the water from every angle. High end amenities, a perfect place to unwind. High end flooring throughout with heated tile floors in the bathrooms and utility/wash room. An amazing place to stay on San Juan, perfectly situated between Friday harbor and Roche harbor. «This is the third time we’ve stayed at the Heron House, and there’s multiple reasons for that:-The house is still clean and beautiful -The location is still awesome-Communication with the hosts is still fantastic-The neighborhood is still quietIt’s honestly a huge part of why we come back to San Juan Island. We refer to the Heron House as “our house” because it feels like home every time we check in. I can’t imagine staying somewhere else!»

«I enjoy the off-season in resort areas so enjoy coming to Orcas Island in February. This house is cozy and comfy, and I’ve rented it 4 of the last 5 years, which ought to say something! You can’t beat the location! Note to Sandi , the owner tho: you need to provide a snow shovel and bag of ice melter/rock salt. »
