«First time visit to England from US to visit my sister and nieces who live nearby in Upwell. We wanted a place with AC as we are a bit spoiled as americans when it comes to AC, and found this place near Ely on a fishing lake. It was an exceptional find, to say the least. Close to Ely, the shops and cathedral, and not a far drive to many other places, including Cambridge. The hot-tub was nice, setting beautiful, and hosts were excellent too. Email with key safe details sent an hour prior to check in, more ideal if possible to send a day before, I was informed when calling reception on arrival; hadn’t thought to check, lady on phone was very helpful. Two recommendations: Cabin is well equipped - but missing a small sieve, as partner got mild burn when draining pasta. «A unique place to stay that really ticked the boxes - I stayed as part of a group and each of us enjoyed the experience, the birds, meerkats, tortoises & reptiles adding to an amazing stay! The bird show (included in price) was good and the staff extremely knowledgeable - the self contained rooms were very clean & comfortable and having a kitchenette with fridge/toaster etc was perfect, the en-suite shower room was large & again very clean - highly recommend a stay here!»
