Summary:
Restored 170-year-old mansion with 6 bedrooms / 5.5 baths that span two floors and over 4,800 square feet. Perfectly tucked in a quiet residential street yet close to everything the city has to offer. Walk down Frenchmen Street and explore New Orleans like a local on your way to the French Quarter or relax in the private backyard with a new heated pool, hot tub, and grill. Please refer to hand drawn floor plan for accurate depiction of bedroom count and layout.

The Space:
This historic home is on featured on the historic register and features all its impressive original architectural features that are tastefully furnished and decorated with contemporary features grand arches with 12 foot ceilings, two artist murals, glamorous chandeliers, historic crown molding and restored hardwood floors throughout. The space is furnished with local New Orleans antiques curated for the right amount of Southern charm and comfort.

Each bedroom features a bit of modern luxury with casper mattresses, a seating area, plush down comforters and both memory foam and down pillows to allow for a good night’s sleep

Guest Access:
The guests have exclusive access to the property during their stay including gated parking on site.

The Neighborhood:
The house is safely and conveniently located in the Marigny. Frenchman Street (better known by the locals) boasts unique shops, cafes, bars and restaurants which will distract you on your quick 10-minute walk to the French Quarter. There, you can then take in the only riverfront views of the Mississippi River from Jackson Square, listen to jazz, and explore the local French Market. There is a Walgreens, Robert’s grocery store and Starbucks all within the block.

Getting Around:
The area is safe to walk around and has many bustling restaurants, bars, cafes, and shops. Taxis and ride shares are also a great way to get around. Distance to the following:

French Quarter: 15 minutes by walking
Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport: 25 minutes by car
Convention Center: 12 minutes by car
Tulane University: 15 minutes by car
Streetcar Access: 10 minutes by car to Howard Ave at Carondelet Entrance

Other Things to Note:
Terrific for family gatherings, or to come and visit NOLA for Mardi Gras, Jazz Fest, etc.

Perfect NOLA trip
The property had such charm and was able to accommodate my large group well! Loved the attention to detail with the furnishing in the home. The neighborhood felt safe and very walkable to Frenchman and the French quarter. I only wish my trip was longer so we could have utilized the pool more and had meals at the massive dining room table. Overall a great place to be with a lot of friends during your stay in NOLA!

Perfect storm of bad experience.
My corporate group rented the property for NADA weekend, which unfortunately came on the heels of the huge snowstorm that hit NOLA. It affected our travel in, pushing our check-in back a day, which was communicated to the owner right away. The owner responded to confirm and said that our missed night would be discounted. Our first arrival got in very late the following night (also communicated), around 1am. The house had not been cleaned after the previous guests’ stay — every bed was slept in, every towel was used and on the bathroom floors, there was trash in all the cans and old food in the fridge. After a long day of travel, he ended up sleeping uncomfortably on a lounge in one of the bedrooms. The owner was contacted first thing in the morning and apprised of the situation, and while it took over an hour for them to respond, she apologized for the mixup, said cleaners were en route, and again promised to discount the stay. Our first guest left for meetings and returned early afternoon. While the cleaner had come, the actual cleaning was a very cursory job — the floors had been mopped but not swept first, so there were still stray wrappers and leaves scattered through the house. There was food in one of the sitting room sofas. Two toilets were not operational, one clogged with actual waste. And there was an actual gun left on the counter. We headed for a hotel not long after. Still waiting for refund resolution from the owner.

Group stay
The owners were very responsive and helpful. It was a beautiful space that definitely matched the listing & could accommodate a larger group. The only thing I would mention out of caution is that there was a bath/shower whose curtains were difficult to move around, which led to a fair amount of water on the ground and, eventually, a nasty fall. So I would recommend being especially careful in that area! Otherwise, it was a beautiful house in a wonderful neighborhood and I would certainly recommend the spot!

Fabulous experience
We were there for the first week in December for a wedding. This property is in walking distance to the majority of things we wanted to do (12 minutes walking slowly.) Just a few notes. For little children and elderly. There is a big bedroom on first floor because the staircases are a bit tricky. They are old and I think people had smaller feet in the past, LOL. I would recommend the big first floor bedroom that had a secret staircase to two upper rooms. The upper rooms do not have dressers or clothing storage. My son used one bedroom to sleep in and one bedroom for his "dressing room and laid his clothing on the bed." The bathrooms need some kind of small table to lay things on. We had two sinks and had one piled high with our personal items. Next time cleaning people come in, tell them to give a good dust underneath the furniture. These are only tiny issues and I would stay here again for sure!

Family Birthday Celebration
Beautiful house, convenient to much of touristy New Orleans. Huge kitchen/dining, very comfortable. Host was available. Down side a couple of the showers didn't work well (there are 5 showers though), and if planning on doing any cooking bring kitchen towels, hot pads, etc, kitchen is not well equipped with those items. All in all a very good experience.

Incredible Birthday Weekend
We stayed at this beautiful historic mansion for a long birthday weekend with my family. The house was incredible! It was extremely luxurious and very clean. The location was perfect. We were able to walk and take short Uber rides wherever we wanted to go and when we got back to the house at night we could relax in the more quiet neighborhood away from the hustle and bustle. Highly recommend!

Wonderful place to stay
When they say opulent, they mean it! We rented this for my 40th bday and it was perfect in every way! We felt extra fancy, the decor was beautiful, very spacious, the pool was perfect! The location was sooo great, just a 2 minute walk to the top of Frenchman. An epic bday celebration! Will be back!

Quintessential NOLA
Perfect for a large group/ family, can’t say enough great things about this house. Classic NOLA beauty. Gorgeous Details abound. . Everyone had very private quarters. our elderly parents were perfectly situated on the main floor, no stairs was a bonus for them. The kids loved the pool. Sitting on the porch under the fans with our sazeracs and bloody mary’s was a Marigny delight. Perfect location for that quiet neighborhood vibe, yet a short walk to everything. St. Roch’s market has delicious food. Delicious bakery & Grocery around the corner, the quarter is 15 min walk. Excellent find, definitely booking again & again ! Missing it already. :) Marcia & Michael are superior hosts who were very responsive with any queries we had.

Uniquely Quirky NOLA Getaway
Our stay in this home was an absolute delight, and the quirky charm of the house added an extra layer of fun to our NOLA adventure. The check-in process was smooth, and the hosts were prompt and communicative. The property itself clean and also boasted some delightful quirks that added character to our stay. From eclectic decor to unexpected design touches, every corner of the house had something interesting to discover. The pool and hot tub were a highlight, they were well maintained and provided a relaxing time in the heart of the city. And with ample space for everyone to spread out, we could fully enjoy all the comforts of home while experiencing New Orleans. Being just a quick walk away from Frenchmen Street and the French Quarter was the icing on the cake. We immersed ourselves in the vibrant energy of the city, knowing that we had a retreat to return to at the end of the day. Overall, our stay at this Vrbo was a perfect blend of comfort, convenience, and quirkiness. If you're looking for a one-of-a-kind NOLA experience, this is it.

Weekend Getaway

Second Stay
We rented the house for the second year over Christmas. The house is in in a good location near the French Quarter. There were enough bedrooms to accommodate our family and all were comfortable. The kitchen/ dining are is spacious and well equipped. The only negative this year was the fact that the hot tub didn’t work the entire time we rented the house because the part needed to fix it wasn’t available until the afternoon that we checked out. However, I notified the owner who apologized and gave me an appropriate partial refund of my rental fee. I would definitely rent this house again.

Truly special location
Our large family (aged 4 - 83) stayed for five nights in October. The house was perfect and offered something for everyone to enjoy! Tucked away from the chaos, we found everything we needed within walking distance. The house has that true New Orleans feel with plenty of vintage touches to offset the modern conveniences. We enjoyed relaxing in the outdoor spaces - the pools, the porch and the deck, and the kitchen perfect for entertaining.
