My first impression was not a very good one. I read the description, and don't get me wrong, I very easily could have misread or misinterpreted the description, and the description I interpreted was a cabin by the lake secluded. This was not the case.
Granted, I should have looked deeper into the pictures and maybe I would have realized that this is not a secluded area. This area is in the middle of a neighborhood, and yes by a lake, but not on the lake.
There is a convenient tiki bar right down the road walking distance that IS on the lake though. The area was nice for where it was at. I did enjoy that it was only 15 minutes from Nashville; however, with the price and the description, I expected a little more I guess?
There are some structural damages to the house (it is an old house though), so if you read this, I would get those looked at. Like the bathroom on the top floor, the tiles seem like they are not stable. There is access to the crawlspace, but I would block that off more securely, especially since it is placed in a childs bedroom.
There was not a hot tub description, but we were excited when we saw one, but were deflated when there is a sign saying it does not work.
The yard was interesting to say the least, and the decor was interesting as well. Personally, I am not a very chaotic person, so all the different themes and decorations did not sit very well with me, but it is not like it really affected my stay.
The upstairs does stay colder than the rest of the house, and there is a whole blocked off middle area of the house that I am guessing is an office of some sort. Overall, the house was pleasant and we thoroughly enjoyed the Saloon. That was the favorite part of it all.
The host is very easy to communicate with and will let you know when he stops by.
There is also a very cute yard cat.
