Welcome to our home, nestled on French Island, in La Crosse. On the island, you will have easy access to the Mississippi River, Lake Onalaska (and many more) in the heart of the beautiful bluffs of the unglaciated “Driftless Area” of Wisconsin and Minnesota. Enjoy Lake Onalaska views from the sofa! EV Charger on-site! At the house, enjoy time in your private backyard hot tub, grilling in the backyard, having a game night (provided), or in front of the Smart TV after a day of exploration!
We are originally from West-central Wisconsin, but currently live in Minnesota. We are passionate about our short term rental and want to you have an amazing stay. We're friendly, easy going, and easy to reach (via phone, text, or message). We're happy to help as much as we can remotely, but we likely won't have the opportunity to meet on-site in person.
Besides the hot tub in the backyard and other activities at the house, there are two public boat launch ramps only one block away – offering extremely easy access to various lakes and rivers! Yet several more boat ramps (as well as public beaches) are less than a 5-10 minute drive away to offer limitless water fun year round. The neighborhood itself is a calm, very quiet and peaceful residential part of town. You will not be disturbed, and we want to ensure that our neighbors will not be disturbed either.
Guests can access the entire property except for select areas which are locked, containing our personal property (e.g., garage, select cabinets)

This home is the perfect place for a couple or small family to spend a weekend or longer. With our hot tub, and this easy access to the waterways - you’ll never want to leave.
You’re welcome to bring your own boat or personal watercraft to launch at one of many nearby boat ramps (and beaches!), with two only one block down the road. Pack your swimsuits and enjoy the 4-person hot tub in the back yard to unwind after a long day of activity.

The home itself has a fully appointed kitchen, complete with armoire refrigerator, dishwasher, oven / stove, coffee maker, and all the necessities to prepare your own meals. Dine at the dinner table with place settings for six or more people. There’s plenty of space in the living room to spread out in front of the large Smart TV, and then crash in one of two bedrooms at the end of the night – each featuring a high-quality foam queen sized mattress. A pack and play travel crib is also available for your little one; a sleeper sofa/air mattress is also available for additional guests. The home has one bathroom, with a full size tub and adjustable showerhead. Make use of many board games and puzzles are available inside the home, as well as ample backyard space along with a gas grill and patio dining set in the backyard. Did we mention the private hot tub!? Of course, please use at your own risk, but we welcome you to relax and soak in the bubbles right in the backyard. Dishwasher, and clothes washer/dryer are available for guest use as well.
This home offers sleeping accommodations for up to 4 guests with the existing beds: Bedroom #1 queen (2) and Bedroom #2 queen (2) for a total of 4 guests (+ 1 infant in the pack and play travel crib). However, if your group is larger, we have linens available for the futon sleeper sofa (+1) and an air mattress (+1) at an additional guest fee, allowing sleeping for 6 total guests. We welcome furry family members (pets) with a nominal nightly fee. Washer and dryer use within the home is complimentary for guests. Infant / baby items (pack and play, kitchen items, toys, etc.) are available upon request. While the garage is for owner use, guests may use the paved driveway for easy parking for 3 cars (or 2 vehicles + a trailer). We also have a universal J1772 stage 2 EV charter/240 RV hookup available as well!

We are on French Island, in La Crosse – right next to Lake Onalaska. Many stores and restaurants in the towns of La Crosse, La Crescent, Onalaska, and more, are easily accessible in 10-15 minutes. The neighborhood itself is very quiet and good for a stroll, but you won’t be able to reach many stores, restaurants, or attractions on foot. A vehicle or rideshare is most likely necessary.

• This home is in a quiet, calm neighborhood. We want you to have a good time, but take noise/disturbances very seriously. Please respect our home and our neighbors.
• La Crosse Regional Airport (LSE) is quite close. While no large planes come in, approximately 2 regional planes do land daily, as do small private/charter planes on occasion.
• This home is not “waterfront” (e.g., direct access to Lake Onalaska), however you can see a partially obstructed view of the lake across the street. (*See photos)
• Use of the backyard hot tub is at your own risk. We regularly maintain the hot tub and balance all chemicals prior to your arrival. However, we cannot control what you bring into the hot tub (e.g., lotions, hair products, fabric softener, etc…) and how they will interact with the water.
