«Great location - literally on the water with the waves crashing on the lava rocks, maybe 20 yards from the room. It is small, no kitchen, perfect for 1 or 2 people. Bathroom/shower outside, funky place, I liked it!»

«We throughly enjoyed our time at Jim and Kepi’s property. The unit was very well appointed and decorated beautifully (Kepi painted many of the art pieces herself!) Location was great and we all loved our time there. We would definitely stay again. »

«My wife and I stayed here for 5 days during our honeymoon in Hawaii. There were plenty of supplies provided for us; dishes, mugs, towels, etc. For two people this was more than enough space. We really enjoyed the deck where we enjoyed our breakfast each day while we planned the days adventures!»

«Our stay at this property was fabulous. The apt. was very clean and comfortable for us. The unit was well equipped and we needed nothing during our stay. The host family was super friendly and loved our conversations with them. There was no a/c but the fans provided kept us very comfortable. We would definitely stay here again. »

«Our stay was fantastic, the property is well maintained, our kids loved the pool. Location was pretty central to everything, but you need a car. The only downside is there were a lot of little cockroaches running around the kitchen area, which is somewhat expected in tropical destinations. »

«The Thomas Guard house made it a memorable stay in Hilo, where we came for a special family celebration. There are four large upstairs bedrooms, plus one off the dining room and two on the lower floor where the children in our group slept. The large, open living room with its picture window was a magnet for everyone to be together. The entire house is welcoming and gracious, the kitchen is well outfitted, and the dining room is large and comfortable. Everyone was happy to be together in this ...

«This is a very nice spot, with a serene view to the ocean over a herd of grazing cattle. The cottage is also unique with most everything you need to make meals and relax. The bath is nice as well with a large shower. The day bed (single) is a firm foam mattress and quite comfortable.. Alas, the double bed is worn and most uncomfortable. I'm sure that the owners have scheduled a replacement of the bed and upgrading it to a queen. We would very definitely stay here again.»
