Private lake front home! Newly remodeled, Cozy, quiet & clean!

Located on Long Lake (Near Michawye golf course) in a residential neighborhood that is densely wooded! Close to down town- yet feels SO FAR AWAY!
You will have plenty of space for large groups with our walk out finished basement that features a second living area as well as a second dining space and a game center. In the summer months, spread out on our two large back decks that over look the lake! Our property is Ideal for any vacation! This cozy cabin is your ideal escape from the bustles of everyday life!
Lake Effect has three bedrooms and two full bathrooms (showers only, no tubs).
First Floor: Bedroom 1: Queen Bed, Bedroom 2: Queen Bed, Living Room: Full sized Sleeper Sofa, Full Bathroom (shower only)
Basement: 2 Full Sized Beds, Full Bathroom (shower only). Please note: Basement bedroom is non conforming and does NOT have an egress inside the bedroom. Egress is located outside the bedroom at the walk out basement entrance.
On the main floor you will find a desirable open concept living area featuring a wall of windows that soak in an abundance of natural light! The views of the lake makes the property seem so private and secluded, bringing the outside inside! Use our electric fireplace to cozy up! Or during the summer months, cool down with our central air conditioning!
Enjoy our remodeled kitchen featuring sprawling granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, and fully stocked with everything you could imagine needing! Crock pot? We got it! Blender? We got it! You will definitely feel at home while away from home!
The home features excellent entertainment options: an electric fireplace, large garage, Wi-Fi, smart TV’s (with access to free tv and movies through vizio+ as well as Amazon prime), a mini fooseball table, an airhockey table, a game cabinet, an outdoor fire ring that overlooks the lake (firewood not included), a picnic table that seats 8-10, 2 kayaks and a 2 person row boat! We now have a small, floating, swim up docking platform at the property (not accessible by land)! Perfect for laying out or fishing!
We provide a fun and relaxing getaway to the heart of northern Michigan for anyone!
Lake Effect is minutes from snowmobiling, hiking, golfing, ski resorts, & Downtown Gaylord. Perfect for year round vacationing! You can find winter, summer and indoor activities- details on activities in the Welcome Binder.
The property features a large, turnaround driveway perfect for hauling snowmobiles and trailers!
Although our property is professionally plowed… We do STRONGLY recommend that you have a 4 wheel or all wheel drive vehicle to access this property. Please note that the driveway, decks and the area outside the house can be very icy and slippery. Please use extreme caution during the winter months to avoid slipping and falling.
This is a rural area and internet outages may occur. Host is not responsible for failure of internet availability.

Book this house. Great House and fantastic Owner!
This beautiful house was perfect. The secluded drive to a wonderful house on a pretty lake. Leave the world behind. Watch the sunset from the deck. The house was clean, the kitchen very well equipped, everything we needed was there. Gameroom downstairs w a bedroom and laundry room. The decor was welcoming, the place was perfect, and Lindsay was an exceptional host. Seriously. I've stayed in dozens of VRBOs. She's the best.

Lakeside getaway
Check in process was easy, host super responsive to questions and needs during our stay. The house is in a quiet area on the lake with a large, sandy beach. We enjoyed the rowboat and kayaks! Home is well stocked and offers a warm and welcome atmosphere. We had 9 adults in our group and plenty of room in the house. Deck is also fantastic with lots of seating. We enjoyed staying here for our family reunion. Thank you!

Spring break family trip
The owner was super accommodating with a couple of last minute changes with my fiancée being added and also deciding to add an extra day! I grew up in the town and wanted to spend time with family and friends. The location was absolutely amazing! The lake view was enjoyed every day with a cup of coffee. We enjoyed seeing all the tiny footprints in the snow and seeing the squirrels run around. We definitely would like to book again in summertime!

Quiet Winter Getaway Retreat
We gathered at this perfect property tucked into the woods on a quiet lake for some winter adventuring in Gaylord. It was just right for a girls’ trip! The neighborhood was quiet, the house had everything we needed, the hosts were excellent communicators, and we found plenty to do in the area in February. If we find ourselves back in this area, we will definitely stay here again!

A Peaceful Lake Effect

We will be back!
We loved our stay here. Often, we go to a rental and it's not as good as the pictures or the beds are uncomfortable or the kitchen doesn't have something we need. That was not the case here!! The house is beautiful, the area is quiet and relaxing, everything you could possibly need is in the kitchen. The host was amazing to communicate with. We will be back! 💚

Family Vacation
Our stay was awesome. Had a great time on the kayaks and paddle boat. The house was beautiful and very clean. Very peaceful place. Had a bon fire every night. Loved having the garage as well. Great inland lake getaway!
I took my niece and nephew on a short trip and this house was perfect for us! We had plenty of space, were very comfortable and had everything we needed (a dish drying rack would have been nice). We had a great day trip to Gaylord and a second day at the house where we caught more than 35 fish from shore (sunfish, bluegill, perch, a few small catfish, and 1 smallmouth bass). We also enjoyed some time in the kayaks and I dominated at the air hockey table. Thanks for sharing your house! Would definitely recommend to others and consider renting again!

Perfect Quiet Getaway
From the moment I booked until I left the owner of this property was fantastic. She was quick to answer any questions I had. This house is adorable. It's the perfect quiet getaway. I took my Mom to celebrate her 70th birthday and beating cancer with my Aunts and cousin. We wanted a relaxing vacation to let go of all that stress. Boy was this trip needed! The basement was a perfect quiet area for my cousin and I to get away. The porch swing were our favorite. Sitting in those looking out the water was what we looked forward to the most. We will definitely be back to this little slice of heaven.

Great Getaway
We wanted a place close enough to town to go for dinner but secluded enough that we felt by ourselves. This place checked all boxes, we had great meals in town and some wonderful nights around the fire pit too unwind. We will definitely plan to come back.

Lake Effect House
My family and I were in town for my son’s wedding in Gaylord and stayed at Lake Effect House. It was everything we imagined plus more. Lindsay did a great job with this house! It is warm and welcoming. I especially liked the fireplace to sit by and relax. The beds were comfortable and the house had all the amenities you could ask for. The lake view is beautiful and even though it was late October, my nephew went in the water. The only bad thing about the property is the dirt roads leading to the house. There are so many potholes in the road which led to a very bumpy ride. Overall, we loved staying at this property and working with Lindsay. We will be back hopefully when the weather is warmer.

Perfect Family Cabin!
We stayed at Lindsey’s cabin for our family’s extended Michigan vacation. The cabin’s location was great and Lindsey was an excellent host. Whether you want to stay and explore the Gaylord area, or like us, take a couple day trips to Mackinaw, this is a great spot to stay.
