We arrived to an unexpected torn up yard, as the septic tank was replaced, but the mounds of dirt were still in the front yard. We messaged the host to see if we should expect contractors and were told no, so we looked past this unexpected eyesore. The property was nice, but needed some additional cleaning as there were several cobwebs in corners. All of the bathmats were sopping wet, so we threw them in the dryer. There is not a hottub on property as listed. All no big deal and could be overlooked.
The neighbor came by to introduce himself (an interruption to our hopeful uninterrupted 1st family trip) and let us know he would be cutting the yard. We figured with all the rain he wouldn't be cutting, but he proved us wrong and cut the next day.
On our 2nd full day, the grass was cut, a contractor came by to put up gutters and the pest control company came. All interruptions to our getaway that were not relayed by the host. All items that could have been handled between checkout and checkin times between guests.
On our 3rd day, the AC stopped working. We contacted the host to inform that the AC quite and was blowing warm air. It was already 75° in the home when we decided to pack up and leave a day early, as the AC was not going to be fixed quickly. It was 85 degrees two hours later when we left. Humidity that was steadly around 60% during our stay, kept growing with the warmth!
The boat house, other than spiders/webs everywhere, was the nicest part of the property.
