The beautiful beach is just a 10-minute stroll away or relax in the serene relaxation area with private Hot tub.
Set next to a working farm, Ivy cottage perfectly balances luxury tranquillity with the beauty of true countryside charm. Ivy cottage’s stylish interior offers a luxurious space to relax after days spent enjoying the fresh air of the beautiful Silverdale coastline. The family-friendly beach is just a stone’s throw away from the dining terrace, offering views for miles whilst enjoying an al-fresco breakfast or an early evening G & T.
The private Hot tub is located, in one of the barns at the far end of the yard, this covered relaxation space is readily inviting whatever the weather, located in a quiet corner of the yard and available for the sole use of Ivy cottage guests. The relaxation area includes a private shower, drinks area and raised Hot tub, slide open the vast barn windows to enjoy panoramic views across the beautiful bay peninsula, from the warmth of the bubbly tub.
On entering the cottage, you are immediately greeted with a warm and welcoming entertaining space, the large open plan kitchen and living area offers stylish comfort, coupled with cottage charm. The generous island is the hub of the room, the perfect place for brunch or coffee and cake after a busy day exploring the coast. The kitchen area is well equipped, it includes washer/dryer, dishwasher and fridge and freezer, everything you could need for your perfect home from home.
The stylish lounge is designed with comfort in mind, the sumptuous leather sofas are warm and soft, just the place to put your feet up in front of the (Bio Ethanol) log burner and warm the toes after a fun filled day of activities, enjoy your favourite movies on the 43" flat screen smart TV and watch the day turn to night over the rustic pasture at the side of the cottage. High Speed WIFI is available for those wishing to work a little and fresh farm eggs and local jam can be purchased from the honesty box, just outside the cottage.
Ivy cottage oozes luxury with 300 count cotton sateen bedding, handmade, deep sprung mattresses, fluffy Egyptian cotton towels and powerful rain forest showers. The 2 bedrooms each have private en-suites and 43" TV’s for those lazy mornings or relaxing movie nights in bed. Bath house toiletries are provided for your use during your stay, along with a complimentary welcome hamper on arrival. The second bedroom boasts a king-size Zip and link bed that can be separated into twin singles on request.
The private courtyard garden has uninterrupted views of the sea the Lake District mountains beyond. There is a BBQ and table and chairs supplied for the sole use of Ivy cottage guests where you can enjoy an al-fresco breakfast, leisurely lunch or cold glass of wine as the sun goes down at the end of a beautiful day.
Step outside and in moments find yourself in the thriving heart of Silverdale, a friendly village popular with walkers and cyclists.
Pick up all your essentials at the well-stocked Co-op and family run butchers. There is also a popular Indian restaurant offering takeaway, in addition to a Post Office, chemist, hairdressers and tea shops. Of course, you needn’t cook at all; the nearby Royal and Silverdale Hotel both serve up a range of meals and make up two of the three pubs in the village.
Explore the multitude of woodland walks that crisscross this delightful village, including the fairy grotto delights of Woodwell on route to Jenny Brown’s Point and the stone Giant’s Chair at Jack Scout. Call in at Wolf & Us on your travels and sample coffee courtesy of local coffee roasters Atkinson’s of Lancaster, and a slice of carrot cake. The Beach House serves up locally sourced seafood and wood-fired pizzas. Be sure to admire local artist Janice McGloine’s inimitable local scenes in the main Wolf House gallery.
Moving further down the village, Silverdale has its own golf course with club house, whilst RSPB Leighton Moss is a must for nature lovers.
Explore further afield if you can bear to leave ‘the Dale’; the local station runs to such seaside spots as Arnside and Grange-over-Sands (roughly 5-10 minutes train ride away) and into Carnforth for larger supermarkets and other shops.

Turn into the lane and do not turn to the right where it is signposted Gibraltar farm, instead stay left (straight on) past the farm buildings and then take the first right. Ivy cottage is on your left before the wooden gates. Please feel free to park directly outside the cottage whilst unloading your luggage.
Parking:Please park in the 2 allocated spaces , in the yard through the wooden gates after unloading your luggage.

Heating:The heating is set to come on and off automatically but should you wish to increase or decrease the heating, go to the Nest screen next to the fireplace. By gently twisting the dial, you can adjust the temperature. The large number in the centre is the temperature you wish to change it to. The small number at the top is the current temperature in the room.
Travel cot:If you plan to use the travel cot please note that we do not provide the mattress or any bedding so remember to bring your own.
General waste recycling:Please use the bins located in the wooden bin stores opposite the cottage for both general waste and recycling.
SettingThe owners of the cottage (Lorraine Karl) live in the cottage next door, you many see them from time to time in the yard or mucking out the donkeys! If you would like to purchase eggs or jam from the booth next door to the cottage, there is an honesty box for you to leave payment.
The hot tub barn and terrace are for sole use of Ivy cottage during your stay, please enjoy these areas and respect that the other areas of the yard are used by the main house. Children under the age of 6 are not allowed in the hot tub.
