A JEWEL IN CANMORE
I booked this hotel because of the comments and pictures on hotels.com. Wanted to see the icefields and nature while in the area on business. Staying from 60-90 nights a year in hotels across Europe and the US, I sometimes discover hotels that are true jewels. This was one such: one of very, very few hotels that are so special that you want to bring it with you! I absolutely loved the personal service, the surroundings and the interiors. And for my hiking they had bear spray available. Ok, I had a fantasy of meeting a bear and the spray would slip out of my hand :) - but I saw no bear, just a mountain goat from the Highline Trail. And beautiful views of Canmore and mountains and colours through the avalanches.
Felt like being a guest in the house of relatives instead of a hotel.
The room was great, clean and spacey - would have appreciated one or two deep chairs; and as others have said the dark walls absorb too much of the light. But those two points are the only negatives - everything else was perfect. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
