My friend and I have been staying on lakes in Maine for a few years. I’m from the northern coast of Massachusetts where the biting flies (greenheads) are so intense I have to get away. This year we decided to bring our dogs. It was a perfect relaxing trip. We started every day by going down to the Belfast Rail Trail and putting in about 5 miles to tire the dogs out. We both brought our paddleboards and spent the rest of the day swimming, paddling, lounging, and doing it all again. The kitchen was the best outfitted of anywhere I’ve stayed. The one meal we didn’t cook we brought in from Young’s, which was fantastic and more affordable than at home.
The sun bakes in the windows in the afternoon so we quickly learned to pull the shades and put the A/C on 74 to keep it from getting too hot.
We only saw glimpses of the dog next door, so he was not an issue at all.
Andrea had absolutely thought of and provided everything. While we left the house clean, the check out process was so easy. I’ve stayed other places that required me to deep clean before I left, and I appreciated not having to stress about that. We even had Roku and watched movies at night. Other places I’ve stayed have barely had a working TV.
The lake is clean, and there are just a few jetskis during the week, and it is otherwise quite quiet.
Great stay, great host, great location. I’d like to go back next week, and next year.
