A View to the Hill
A beautiful stay was enjoyed by all. No need to set the alarm, each day our morning wake up call was the goats, after a few days, you can identify each by their individual bleat! Very cute, and very entertaining.
The views are magnificent, we spent a day at home, didn’t leave, just enjoyed the space, played all the games located in the bottom drawer, and watched Netflix. A well equipped kitchen, with all you need, and we love to cook!! We had a few bbq nights enjoyed on the rooftop, followed by stargazing, identifying stars and watching the satellites orbit the sky, and even enjoyed a champagne breakfast up there too.
We walked to the dam, then down to the river, followed by the friendly goats in the paddock, looking for the elusive platypus. Instead we were greated by yabbies, though hard to catch. We took our (electric) bikes and road up the road and back, passing kangaroos in the paddocks.
On the other days, we had the boat, so spent days on Lake Eildon (great for swimming) and Nillahcootie Dam, (good for a fish). Take all you need to enjoy a day out in the sun.
We hiked up to Craig’s Hut with the lovely Romana and Kev, from @highcountryhikingtours to enjoy a beautiful candle lit dinner, then hiked back down, in the dark, crossing paths with a wombat, enjoying a feed. A truly unique experience.
A farm stay with all the modern cons, hosts are beautiful, enjoy a chat, lots to do, and see, deer, hares and we even found an Angus calf walking down Barwite Road, which was safely returned to his mum, thanks to the help of one of the staff at the local IGA.
The place is also well equipped for the snow season! Check out the drying room in the downstairs laundry - talk about new age, not just a place to dry your boots.
Thanks guys for a wonderful stay. We have recommended your place to everyone we have talked to so far, about our wonderful week away.
To sum it up - a place you don’t want to leave.
